Mets Police Morning Laziness: monetizing children, the 2019 schedule, a Soft HR and Murph Murphs!

Gare, Daniel Murphy made his debut with the Cubs last night…

A good start for Murph. Back to you Gare.

I am told Gare mentioned Murph a lot last night.  I heard him mention Dan in the 9th when Jacksonville came up.  Gare is obsessed with Murph the way I am with TDK.  (checks Reds Probable Pitchers…nope, tomorrow)

Murph looks into crowd, wonders why everyone has a bag on their head,

NOT LINKING:  The newspaper is calling McNeil “the Next Daniel Murphy.”  You idiots never learn with the NEXT stuff.  Stop.   Anyway, when McNeil is hitting .255 next June and you’re putting bags on your heads I want everyone to remember how he was anointed and everyone had decided the Mets are set at 2B.

SLACKISH REACTION:
I dunno. The Mets won. Soft Todd Frazier hit a HR. Dom Smith got a rare RBI. I had a few beers and only saw Top 9 when Mickey bullpenned because baseball is horrible and probably worse than every sport. You don’t actually come here for recaps, do you?

Is baseball the worst sport? Let’s think about this….

NFL. Is better.
MLS. Is better.
NHL. Hmmm also pretty boring.
NBA. Way better and I don’t even like it.
NASCAR Better.

Yeah it’s the worst sport.

OTHER SLACKISH REACTION: Maybe I was at a bar and maybe it was showing the LLWS. Why does this exist? Why are we televising and monetizing a 9-0 blowout? Why are we having children play baseball after 9pm in the rain? Why do we have a radar gun telling us how fast the child is throwing to the other child? Why is the 12 year old nodding at his catcher as if the other child is calling the game? Why is the coach taking kid out after 15 pitches in a 9-0 game? This tournament is pure evil and should not exist.

The Mets play a day game today.  Weekday day games are insane.  You can’t both tell me Thursday at 1 makes sense but Saturday at 1 does not.

The Mets announced the 2019 Schedule AND they will honor the 1969 Mets.

Looks like this is the 9/11 cap patch.

David Wright played again.

Soft Todd Frazier’s OPS is .702

Good use of Trackwalling by Gary Cohen on Soft Todd Frazier’s Home Run

Hey even a broken clock is right twice a day.  Soft Todd Frazier homered.  I was out so I missed It but Nick bombed my inbox….

Good job by Gare and a rare appropriate use of Trackwalling as it was actually at the track and wall.

Verdict: Scully

Earlier, Dom Smith had this rare RBI, and Gare was in good form tonight. Although Gare, nobody gives a shit about Its Outta Here. Your’e not Mel Allen, you don’t need to do it EVERY time. But the rest of it is a really good call with no Trackwalling.

Verdict: Scully
