Wow I wonder how Steve Cohen, who may have given $1.5 million to Mayor Adams campaign feels about this.

In light of the controversy about a possible casino in the Citi Field parking lot, which is parkland and part of Flushing Meadows Corona Park, constituents asked about “the importance of public lands for public use and how that model is going to be used in the redevelopment of the Willets Point area.”

“We are really pushing the use of public space … I think that’s so important to determine how that space is going to be used,” Adams said. “The more open space we have, the more public space, the more parks … the more we hear from you in utilizing these spaces, I believe it creates the right environment for our city.” (via Queens Chronicle)

Former Mets ace Matt Harvey has traded pitching baseballs for pitching loans.

Harvey, who quit the sport last month after a 10-year career, has quietly joined commercial real estate firm Newmark as managing director of its multifamily debt origination and advisory unit, The Post has learned.

A source said Harvey’s job will be to develop new client relationships while he undergoes a “crash course” as part of the powerhouse Capital Markets Strategies division.

“I’ve always been interested in the many different aspects of real estate,” Harvey told The Post. “By joining an incredibly successful firm such as Newmark, I will be able to learn and grow from some of the best in the industry.”

I wager one dollar that this does not work out.  Let’s check back in two years.

Murphy is a lifetime .296 batter, same as David Wright, and within 200 hits of David – could Murph play this season and next and get there?
