The Mets walked into this one. Anyway, that winner Pete Alonso (one playoff win in an era of expanded playoffs) will look sharp when he hits the links in October in one of these!

What Mets fans talk about when not talking about the actual games.

Sal Licata is my Person Of The Day! Sal said..
“The Mets have a toxic clubhouse. And Pete Alonso is part of that.”
Alonso is the guy who has to go. It pains me to say that Alonso, a guy who all he does is play and produce…it’s not that the Mets can’t afford Pete Alonso, and it’s not like they don’t love his production, because they know what he provides. So what is it, exactly? Something is off, an Alonso has to be the one, if you’re looking to change something. If you’re looking to change the look of this team, culture is not something that can be bought.”
(editor’s note – Pete produces in bunches that do not result in winning baseball.)
“Why did they fail so miserably? It’s because you have a bunch of selfish individuals not playing as a team,”“And unfortunately, Alonso is part of that.
“Put it this way: I’ve done my homework, and I know there are issues in that clubhouse. That’s a fact. They know something. They know the clubhouse was a major problem….that’s the reason Pete Alonso was made available. That’s the reason the Mets need a significant change in that clubhouse and their culture. It’s just not working. It’s become a toxic environment there.”
I actually don’t hate this one, but then again, what are even doing? And does ANYONE care about that 60th anniversary patch?

Let’s stop free passing Uncle Steve. If the Wilpons handed this in you guys would riot. How in any way is this an acceptable lineup? Not even worth of March 9th. Sell The Team Again!

I think the Mets are on a mission to make everyone just stop caring. I know I have. You know how much I care about SNY not being on YTTV? Not at all. After last year’s combined no-hitter I watched the next day, then realized baseball is so boring – and didn’t watch again until the night the Six Padres Fans chased the t-shirt army out of Citi Field (hey it was cold and they had to work the next day. Loyal until the water is bad. I get it.)
This year I watched Opening Day and during Game 2 I realized I was bored, and really don’t enjoy Gary Cohen’s company (he just isn’t fun) and turned it off and haven’t looked back.
But that’s me. They’d never start to lose someone like Howie Rose, right?

In other news, what the heck is this lineup? It seems to me that they are tanking to protect the draft pick. The Wilpons are a joke. I can’t wait until they are gone and we get a cool billionaire who is willing to field a competitive team instead of focusing on developing real estate on 126th street. Sell The Team!
