Is THIS the reason Gary Cohen’s PBP is ahead of the video on SNY?

There are so many reasons baseball is unwatchable (it’s boring, the games are too long, half inning interviews by Gelbs) – many fans noticed that the audio was often (always?) ahead of the video on SNY Mets games….and that Gary Cohen often seemed like Nostradamus on his calls.

Just now, I read an awesome thread on twitter about the virtual-ads-boards on NHL telecasts, which I recommend you all read as it is quite educational and insightful.  One tweet in particular caught my eye…

So that makes me thing (a) we aren’t crazy, and (b) the “SNY actually sucks” premise to all this isn’t that for off.

As for my SNY dig – ask yourself, do you like SNY or do you like Keith Hernandez?  I bet you like Keith Hernandez.  (Those who are honest will admit the Gary/Ron booth has shockingly little chemistry),   I know there has been a legend created about SNY and how it’s awesome….but it it?  Is the shoulder programming good, or does it happen to be next to the show that Keith Hernandez is on?

I realize these are difficult questions and the sort of thing people aren’t supposed to say in public…but be honest…Keith is the straw that stirs the SNY drink.   And the audio is ahead of the video.

Jacob deWho? Mets reportedly sign Justin Verlander

World Champion Justin Verlander who won 18 games last year (that’s a WAR of plus 13 over Jake, right?) reportedly has signed with the New York Mets.

Two years EIGHT SIX MILLION which is insane, but Steve is rich so whatever.

18-5  1.75 ERA and took 28 turns?  Nice.

Anyway let him and Max sit hime until August 1….some idiots expanded the playoffs, let’s not waste innings in April and May.  Hell let Matt Harvey take 10 turns and then release him.  The Phillies have shown everyone the way, and the way is to waste half the summer.  Nice head baseball.

Anyway, this is fun.
