No wonder @mediagoon ignores my emails. He’s busy making deals with the newspaper, in this case the New York Post. My mom spotted this ad…maybe she will attend while I’m out of town that weekend. Wait until he spots the typo!!!

Are the Mets playing tonight? Who are they playing? Is it a big game? Because Fifa23 is out and I didn’t want Rings or Andor yet.
My super-fan Sporty tells me that this is the 4th anniversary of David Wright’s final game with the Mets. Other than the Wright part of it, I am sure this was actually the worst baseball game ever played – with the Mets and Marlins playing a dreadful game that went into extra innings. I would have been long gone except I wanted to see DW address the crowd…..
…we stayed and stayed, and the game broke my son. He hasn’t been to Citi Field since, nor have I. It proved that baseball is indeed unwatchable in its current form.
But aside from baseball being awful, it was nice to see David summon all his strength to get out there one last time.
Maybe baseball died that night along with David’s career, and it just took a pandemic, three wild cards, a little too many Keith-less games, a combined no-hitter and ghost runners for me to notice that baseball is indeed a thing of the past.
Also, hadn’t noticed – apparently David changed t-shirts that night from illegal orange to blue.

Pete Alonso has set a new franchise single-season RBI record with 131 this season…His 131 RBI tops the majors…Only once before in franchise history has a Met finished the season with the most RBI…Howard Johnson recorded a career-best 117 RBI in 1991 to lead the National League…He has 27 game-winning RBI this season, the most since the stat was first tracked in 1974…His 35 go-ahead RBI are tied for the second-most in a single season in Mets history…Keith Hernandez had 36 go-ahead RBI in 1985.
Pete Alonso has recorded 17 home runs with runners in scoring position…His 16 home runs lead the major leagues and sets a new franchise record, previously held by Todd Hundley (15) in 1996…Alonso has surpassed his home run total from 2021 with 40 home runs…The only Mets to have 37 or more home runs in consecutive seasons are Alonso, Darryl Strawberry (1987-88) and Mike Piazza (1999-2000)…Alonso and Strawberry are the only two Mets to reach 37 home runs in year three times.

METS BUILD AMAZIN’ DELI SET AT CITI FIELD
FLUSHING, N.Y., September 27, 2022 – The New York Mets are excited to announce the installation of the Amazin’ Deli interactive experience….
….at Citi Field. This unique experience will allow fans the opportunity to take pictures in front of the set used for all promotional materials during the 2022 season. The Amazin’ Deli will be located behind section 131 in the left-field corner starting tonight.
Fans will have the unique opportunity to pose on the same set used by their favorite players. The set was built and designed by the New York Mets and Murmuration Inc. and was used as the backdrop for all promotional and scoreboard material during the 2022 season.
In addition to photos, fans can order the “October Special” and other Mets Postseason gear at the adjacent team store. Available for purchase from the deli counter in the store, the “October Special” is a one-of-a-kind Amazin’ Deli themed T-shirt. Both the T-shirt and a hoodie featuring a sketch of the deli will be exclusively available in the adjacent store.
