“Crowd” shots of Mets-Marlins doubleheader

Supreme Commander Lukas is at the game and starts off the crowd shots, this one about 40 minutes before game time.  Click on the photo for a better look.

To be fair, 4pm is hard to make, many of us who were interested in the doubleheader are going tomorrow since tomorrow is of course a Saturday, and lots of people have travel issues and many others don’t have power at home.

And it’s the Marlins.

Gonna be a long 18 innings. I’m going to go “running with Rose” and I’ll be in and out over the next 7 hours. I can’t give the Mets 18 innings in a row tonight. Sorry. And since the bullpen is rested who is in favor of a 22 inning 1st game? I’m off tomorrow, I can watch all night.

Quite a few twitter followers are at the game…

@Del2327 says these are from 4:05pm

Mets to launch anti-bullying campaign

METS TO LAUNCH ANTI-BULLYING CAMPAIGN

Public Service Announcements to Start Today, August 29 at Citi Field and on SNY;

Anti-Bullying Messaging Developed in Conjunction with StopBullying.gov

FLUSHING, N.Y., August 29, 2011 – The New York Mets today announced the launch of an anti-bullying public service awareness campaign designed to educate and support our children about all forms of bullying. The PSAs will begin airing today, Monday, August 29, during games at Citi Field and on SNY to help deliver the message to the broadest audience.

Jason Bay, Chris Capuano, R.A. Dickey, Daniel Murphy and David Wright are among the players who participated in tapings for the segment. The content was developed in conjunction with StopBullying.gov, an official U.S. Government Web Site managed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and U.S. Department of Education.

The Mets place a high priority in supporting children in the community. For 18 years, the organization has been a proud sponsor of the Student Athlete Leadership Conference Series, a mentoring program that includes an anti-bullying and civility message with particular attention paid to language and behavior that is derogatory and offensive based on racial, sexual and ethnic biases. Over the years, thousands of high school athletes have been trained to promote positive activities to hundreds of thousands of elementary school students across Long Island.

The Post says: Stray dogs menace Mets fans at Citi Field

I like the work of Jeremy Olshan in the Post and the article does have a picture of a stray dog near Citi – but I personally have never seen a stray there.  Have any of you been “menaced” by dogs?

The stray dogs have been wandering across 126th Street from Willets Point’s no-man’s land of auto-body shops, and onto the stadium grounds for years, stadium security guards told The Post.
