Howie, I wish you a speedy recovery and good health.

So over the past few years I have seen some of you suggest Pete Alonso for captain, a notion I completely dismiss. (#LGM)

If this team ever needed a leader it is today.  Where is Captain Pete to tell the fans that this is not how the Mets feel about us.  Why should the actions of….I think it is 4 players….drag the whole team down.

Where have you gone Pete Alonso?  Wanna be the captain? Act like The Captain.

Wrong play Steve. This is not a joke.

The Mets have issued a statement.  It reads….

In a post-game press conference today, Javy Baez stated that his “thumbs down” gesture during the game was a message to fans who recently have booed him and other players for poor performance. These comments, and any gestures by him or other players with a similar intent, are totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Mets fans are understandably frustrated over the team’s recent performance. The players and the organization are equally frustrated, but fans at Citi Field have every right to express their own disappointment. Booing is every fan’s right.

The Mets will not tolerate any player gesture that is unprofessional in its meaning or is directed in a negative way toward our fans. I will be meeting with our players and staff to convey this message directly.

Mets fans are loyal, passionate, knowledgeable and more than willing to express themselves. We love them for every one of these qualities.

Well this was unexpected.  I am so shocked I don’t even know what to say.  If the Mets don’t like US, why should we bother supporting them?

Congrats to Lindor to becoming the new Bobby Bonilla. I’d say it’s going to be a long 12 years but it will be wind up being a very ugly 4 years or so until the Mets have to move him….Bonilla style.

I had been hoping to have a new favorite Met in Baez but I hereby denounce him and make him my least favorite Met and call for his immediate release. I get that Steve can’t eat Lindor’s contract but he can eat the Baez contract.

Or just let him sit there and never play.

Then don’t thumbs down us. You broke the bond between the uniform and the fans. There is no coming back.

I want Pete Alonso live on SNY and Mets.com apologizing for his teammates and apologizing to the fans and I want it by 9pm.

The Mets are off today so this will be a two day thing.
