Seaver at Citi Field tonight

TOM SEAVER: Hall of Fame pitcher and Mets icon Tom Seaver willbe at Citi Field tonight and tomorrow…Seaver, who was in the USMarine Corps Reserves, will present tonight’s Veteran of the Gamewith a flag that has flown over Citi Field…Seaver will have a winetasting and lunch with season ticket holders as part of the Mets AMP(Amazing Mets Perks) program

Also…some people get mad at me when I say the season is over because of the lousy start.  Here’s an interesting stat:

METS AT A GLANCE: Despite last night’s loss, the Mets have wonseven of their last 11 games and after starting the year 5-13, theyhave gone 14-9…The 14 wins since April 21 are tied for the fifth most in the majors, two behind Atlanta..

So basically they’ve been the second hottest team in baseball and lost two games in the standings to Atlanta, one of the teams ahead of them.

Look, I hope I’m wrong and they go on a 35-5 tear and you all call me an idiot when they win the East.  I’m not giving up on them, I still hang on twitter every game (@metspolice) and post here 5x a day so I don’t  want to hear that I’m not a fan…but I am a fan who can do math, and knows that the pitching is thin, the corner infielders are out, it makes sense to move Reyes.

For me, I’m just enjoying each individual contest.  If at the end they somehow have an x next to New York in the standings I’ll be thrilled…but I’m not counting on it.

How I Met The Mets 1986

Thanks again to the Mets for featuring MetsPolice in the latest issue of Mets Magazine (aka the scorecard/program).

Hopefully there are some new fans visiting this week…so I thought I’d re-post season 1 of How I Met The Mets.  I’ll post one each day this week at noon
