Vulgar Pete Alonso hopes Mets give Lindor $400M

Vulgar Pete sure would like Lindor to stay on the Mets.

“I hope they pay [Lindor] $400 million, and I think he is worth every penny of what he decides, That’s his personal decision, but he’s a superstar. I have always known he was an unbelievable player, but the amount of intangibles that man has is special.

“Also, he’s young [27] and what he can bring to a club for a very long time, I can’t even imagine what the potential is that he can help out for the future. Pay him $400 million, absolutely.” (via New York Post)

The Billionaire who signed James McCann and not much else

The Wilpons are gone.  You have achieved your dream of having a billionaire owner who will improve the team.  Let’s review the off-season. The Mets signed these free agents.

Sam McWilliams

Trevor May

Aaron Loup

Albert Amora

Taijuan Walker

James McCann

That’s it.  Look, I hope later today we hear Lindor is extended and you guys can send this post to Freezing Cold Takes, but right now at 8am all I am seeing is a WILPONIAN off-season.

No excuses.  Not this time.  No excuses.

Enjoy this song. Sing it with me!

But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like you’ve been here before?

Report: Steve Cohen’s Mets internally investigating sexual harassment and discrimination

The Daily News writes….

Steve Cohen, once again lording over a workplace prominently accused of having a sexist culture, has once again hired white-shoe law firm WilmerHale to perform an internal investigation.

And Cohen businesses have been sued for sexual harassment and discrimination before….

..In March 2021, The Athletic reported that Cohen hired WilmerHale to investigate “policies, procedures and practices” and review “workplace culture … with a focus on sexual harassment, misconduct and discrimination issues” with the Mets.

Steve Cohen to bring back Mets’ Black Edge jerseys

Well, look what Steve Cohen is bringing to Queens.  No it’s not a Lindor nor Conforto extension (not to mention Thor)…it’s this.

This ends a nice run of nine seasons where the Mets looked nice.

Long term readers of the blog are well aware of my opinions on the Black Edge jerseys, which simply out, look terrible.

While they might look nice as fashion-wear, they look terrible on field, and the caps are even worse.

I wonder if Trump supporter Mike Piazza has Steve’s ear on these, as they are clearly Piazza era jerseys.

The good news for readers of this blog is that I have vowed to continue doing this until the Mets win the World Series while nicely dressed, and it seems that Steve has no intention of helping me see that goal – so I will stay here and continue to fight the good fight.  You won’t begetting rid of me any time soon.
