Now that we have established that the reason the Mets didn’t sign Ohtani is because Ohtani/agents didn’t call Steve, I guess Rylan Bannon did.  That was smart, as Steve is apparently sitting around waiting for free agents to call HIM, rather than hiring some sort of General Manager to make outbound calls.

Anyway, this is a big signing and shows the Mets are not messing around this off-season.  The Wilpons would never have made a move like this one.

Are we really going with “the agent never called me?”

It’s not like there wasn’t a recent group of meetings in Nashville.

The Cohen Apologists on this story are really ridiculous.  I thought the whole point of the billionaire was to get Ohtani type player on here.

Now if you want to tell me Ohtani didn’t want to play on the East Coast – well I HAVE BEEN SAYING THAT FOR 2 YEARS.

But at least call.   Find out.  Ask.

I say this as someone that HAS BEEN CONTACTED BY STEVE COHEN.  Steve was motivated enough to tweet at ME…so he can pick up a phone.

OR…hear me out….maybe hire a General Manager to do such menial tasks.
