Mets Police Morning Laziness: I go to sleep, wake up and suddenly the MSM is on Wags’ case

SLACKISH REACTION:  What the hell happened?  I watched the game until 10 and was both bored out of my mind and sleepy from all the early far-away soccer from all three days of the weekend so I turned the game off.  The Mets were losing 3-2 or winning maybe 4-3, or I dunno it was boring…..and I wake up this morning and there are articles about how this was Wags’ reckoning and that the manager is in trouble again.   What happened to the 6-1 streak?

Since we’re coming off a holiday weekend, here’s a whole bunch of ICYMI

Here are the Mets in their poppy jerseys

Bill Buckner died and I wish people would make his obit about the life of Bill Buckner and not that other thing.

I’m getting killed on Facebook for how I titled this post about caps.

Bill Buckner has died at age 69

Oh wow.   I popped on just to work ahead on some generic posts (Gil Must Go etc) and saw this.

After battling the disease of Lewy Body Dementia Bill Buckner passed away early the morning of May 27th surrounded by his family,” Buckner’s family told ESPN in a statement. “Bill fought with courage and grit as he did all things in life. Our hearts are broken but we are at peace knowing he is in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

So as Mets fans, obviously Bill is forever entrenched in our history.  An unfortunate turn of fate in a game that was already tied.

Bill and the Boston fans eventually made peace with the event and each other.

In 2015, Buckner told the Deseret News he had found peace after being treated as a scapegoat by fans and media members for years.

“It’s life, and everybody has to deal with something, and most of the time it’s a lot more important than a baseball game,” Buckner said. “You’re talking about cancers, children, and those things that are much more important than baseball. You have choices and some people can’t deal with it and some can. Spiritually that helped me.” (via Washington Post)

So rather than post what every other Mets blog is going to post, I’ll take a different road and post the below.  A reminder to us all that it’s just men hitting a ball with a stick, and the other guys are trying to win too.

I may run for Congress to get a ban on stupid Mets caps passed

I’m considering making a run for Congress so that I can pass legislation to stop  stupid Mets caps from being made.  To make this one we must have cut down a tree or burned fossil fuel or something.  This didn’t just magically exist.  This is TERRIBLE.  Stop.

Also, I love holiday filler.

The New York Mets Fractured Metal Badge 59FIFTY Fitted Cap features a Mets badge with a fractured metal appearance at the front panels. Additional details include a matching New Era flag at the left-wear side and MLB Batterman logo at the rear.

I also plan to introduce an Anti High Crown bill.

Hat Club is selling Queens Kings caps

More Holiday Weekend Filler!   Hat Club is selling Queens Kings caps.  I kinda want one, but I’m gonna need to convert to a pay site and get 8 of you to pay $5 a month if I’m gonna drop $40 on a cap.

Actually I probably could get 8 of you to pay $5 a month.  Hmmmm.

Hat Club.
