Link -> Councilman wants MLB to make rain delay rules more fair to fans (NY Post)

I had to bounce this a few times because of the Mickey Watch, but things seem safe this morning so…..

Here’s an interesting political play….

Councilman Justin Brannan fired off a letter to Manfred on Tuesday, urging him to implement a new policy requiring umpires to call games once rain delays stretch more than an hour beyond the scheduled first pitch so that “loyal fans” are no longer “lingering endlessly.”

The Councilman goes on to suggest MLB adopt a policy where fans can swap their tickets for Iffy games rather than schlep out there and hope for the best.

I of course advocate that you just buy a nice TV and stay home with your backpack and enjoy the comforts of a nice couch.

Nats’ Easton thinks Lyin’ Todd Frazier is childish and probably Sad.

“He’s very childish,” Eaton said. “I’m walking with my head down. The play’s over. I’m walking away. I hear him a couple of times. I’m a 30-year-old man with two kids. I’ve got a mortgage and everything. And he wants to loud-talk as he’s running off the field. I’ve got to be a man about it. I tried to stay patient with the childishness and like I said, it is what it is. I’ve got to stand up to him eventually.” (via NY Post)

Oh man, Eaton is totally gonna blocked on twitter.  No Salt and no pepper for you Mr. Eaton.

Meanwhile, Lyin’ Todd’s OPS is up to .583 baybee

Asked Monday night if he was surprised this feud was still going on, Eaton said, “Yes, absolutely.”

Mickey Watch: ESPN says Mets might fire Mickey Callaway in June

ESPN has one of those articles that stop just short of #WWMDS (When Will Manfred Do Something) but it includes this nugget…

Multiple sources familiar with the team’s thinking believe it will take an extreme turnaround to save Callaway’s job, predicting his firing will happen sometime in June (via ESPN)

And I will continue to stick to my guns that Mickey will be dismissed following Sundays game.

Mets Police Morning Laziness: A Song of Suffice and Not Fired

SLACKISH REACTION:  Cancel your comedy tour and order your FONTASTIC t-shirts because the Mets are back!  The new narrative is that the Mets backed up Mickey Callaway!   And Lyin’ Todd Frazier is heating up!   While its as total chaos at 4pm, by 10:30 we were printing playoff tickets, the boycotts were canceled and I was back to being “too negative.”  Show up at Shea Citi Field but don’t bring a backpack.  The Mets are just 6.5 games back!

I still think Mickey will be fired this Sunday and will stick to my guns until I will need a time machine to be proven right.

Oh and I don’t know what is going on with Cespedes, but didn’t you feel like the Mets didn’t believe his story.

Meanwhile. in Adam Eaton vs Todd Frazier I am on Team Eaton.

Also Meanwhile…get hyped for the new Doctor Kay you had never heard of until this sentence.  Go ahead, be outraged that the Mets won’t call him up.  I’ll save you the click, Anthony Kay is 24 and 4-2 with the Rumble Ponies.

Wait until the Mets find out they scheduled a Robinson Cano promotion this weekend!
