Mickey Watch Watch: I predict Mickey Callaway will be fired by the Mets on May 26th

I’m declaring it.  May 26th.

I predict Mickey will be relieved of his duties following the game on Sunday May 26th.

After that game, Interim Manager Jim Riggleman and the Mets will head to the West Coast.  The Memorial Day holiday coupled with the late starts on the West Coast will give the Mets some cover from the total media circus.

Jim will be settled in before the June 4th homestead, and then the games against the Yankees on June 10 and 11.

We can argue about whose fault this is, but Wags is gonna have to make a move – and he’ll make it on May 26th.

So much for me rooting for Keon Broxton on the Mets

Wow, Wags is a Savage.  That will teach all of you not to speak to the media.

It was just 16 hours ago where I decided I liked Keon Broxton.

Prior to tonight’s game, the Mets selected the contract of outfielder Carlos Gómez from Syracuse (AAA) of the International League and recalled RHP Paul Sewald from Syracuse…To make room on the 40- man roster, outfielder Keon Broxton was designated for assignment…In addition, outfielder Michael Conforto was placed on the 7-Day Injured List, due to a concussion…Gómez will wear #91 and Sewald will wear #51…..Gómez batted .270/.329/.500 with 16 extra-base hits, 22 RBI and five steals in 35 games at Triple-A…He hit .357 (15-42) with six runs, three doubles, a triple, five home runs, 13 RBI, two steals and 1.250 OPS in 12 games in May….Gomez signed as a minor league free agent on March 7, 2019…Sewald is 0-0 with a 3.60 ERA (two earned runs/5.0 innings) in three games with New York this year…He was 2-1 with a 2.50 ERA (five earned runs/18.0 innings) in 12 games with Syracuse this season.

I even had gone through the trouble of screen grabbing his face so I’d have an image for posts.

Fare thee well Mr. Broxton.  I came to goof on you but you won me over.

I know all Mets fans are really interested in the topic of affordable housing coming to 126th street which is why I keep covering it.   You know who is responsible for building it right…

By the way a soccer stadium is INSANE unless NYCFC is going to play in it.

The first phase of development, regardless of which proposal is selected, will include construction of 1,100 units of affordable housing on six acres, according to the NYCEDC.

What happens next is anyone’s guess. One proposal calls for creating “a true, high-density, mixed-use district” that is “primarily residential” and features housing at different levels of affordability, a new high school, retail space, a fire station and a health center, according to the NYCEDC. Basically, a whole new neighborhood. The other proposal would create a 270,000 square-foot soccer stadium with capacity for 25,000 seats. The stadium would share parking with Citi Field. Gil Must Go: just make Garrett the 3B already and be set until 1984

I told ya so.  Gil has started listening to me by running Garrett out there instead of Gliding Ed Charles and Wayne responded with 3 for 5!   We should just decide Garrett is the Mets 3B and be set at the position for a decade.  He’s 21, he could play until 1984!

And my man Buddy is hitting .286.

Rough outing for McGraw, 4 runs in 5 innings but nice to see Koonce pitch the final three innings to get the win.  I’m not sure how much baseball I can put up with if Gil is going to use four pitchers every night.   No wonder the game took three hours and 16 minutes.  That’s an insanely long time for a 9 inning game.

I don’t know how the heck this team is 16-18 because they really suck and have a classless manager.
