Report: Baseball trying but fails with horrible Election Day idea

NBC Sports tells me that...

The regular All-Star voting will proceed as normal. Then, once that’s done, the the top three vote-getters at each position will be placed on a new ballot from which fans would then vote again during a single day to decide who starts.

Stop.

I get that baseball is trying to generate excitement but this is going to be nauseating.  Remember how annoying #FaceOfMLB was?

Now imagine 30 teams trying to get their guys elected to the ASG.  How annoying is THAT going to be.

Plus – we will have voted for 6 weeks or whatever it is, now we’re going to have another vote?

Unless the Rockies have their act together and get Murph a starting job I hate this idea.  You know the Mets don’t have THEIR act together…

Thanks Mets, I think I WILL #VoteMarkakis….

I appreciate that MLB is trying to branch out but this idea is someone in the social media department trying too hard.

Report: Baseball Lineups will have to go to the commissioner’s office first.

Well good news for Lineup Tweet Haters….

…each team’s lineup will first have to go to the commissioner’s office rather than the team’s own public relations office or to the media. (Via NBC Sports)

The report says that lineups have to go to the league 15 minutes before the media gets it so that gambling lines can be set….but Pete Rose can’t be in the Hall of Fame…..

So what happens when Player X slips and tells Gelbs that Player X isn’t playing today, or is batting third…

I know of some gentlemen who would be very interested to hear what Gelbs has to say.  (Read that in Fat Tony voice).

Something tells me that this is going to have all sorts of unforeseen consequences, none of which will be good.   And I’m not sure how fan friendly this is.

Also, if you’re betting on baseball please call the National Helpline on Gambling as you really do have a problem.  No, you really do.

The Dark Knight returned…how did he do?

My oh my everyone is so excited….

…but nobody MORE excited than The Dark Knight!

I mean people are REALLY excited!

A strikeout for Matt Harvey!

The Real Deal is cruising!

Unfortunately for us, despite my hilarious recaps I had to Actually Work (TM) and couldn’t spend much time with this one. Hey Fabian, how did TDKoala do?

Thanks Fabian!

Well, there you have it, The Dark Knight of Anaheim of Los Angeles is back, and well on his way to the Hall of Fame.  He might even be the next Chuck Finley.  See ya in 5 days Matty Baseball….and enjoy the local Arizona waitresses.

Mets Police Morning Laziness: what is Wags really up to?

A big shoutout to my #2 follower Al Leiter.  Hello Al!  I like your icon.  Ask the media relations people to send me press releases, will ya?

SLACKISH REACTION: I’m still completely confused by this Jessica Mendoza thing. It doesn’t make ANY sense to me except from the Long Con angle.  At least the media is noticing that with Lowrie and Lyin’ Todd Frazier out (Sad) that the Mets depth kinda sucks again.  Wait until the MSM notices the OF situation.

I actually did FOUR after 10pm posts last night…

A longer thought piece about the Jessica Mendoza move. A better move would have been to add her to the booth.

Baseball rosters will reportedly go to 26 men in 2020 which is stupid and here’s why.

Mets threw shade at Dom Smith

Could CAA be looking to buy the Mets?

Not from after 10pm but popular is this 1987 Print Shirt

If I counted right, today is Harvey Day – Harvey info is hard to come by, the Angels beat seems to be worse than the Mets beat.  Anyway his picture day photo is of course douchey.
