Sweet Caroline Not Dead Yet?

From the Daily News:

“I liked it,” said Rob Hoffman, who is in the Air National Guard and originally from West Hampton Beach, L.I., about the switch, “because I am also a Red Sox fan. I think that is their song.”
SaidAlex QuirozofUnion City,N.J.: “I liked ‘Meet the Mets’ better. When I hear ‘Sweet Caroline,’ I think of theBoston Red Sox. That’s their song. With ‘Meet the Mets,’ it’s about our team.”
A Mets official downplayed the tune swap, saying: “We never specified an eighth-inning sing-along for the entirety of the season.”

  1. I was as the game last night, and I was pleased that my sectionmates (in Left Field Landing,) all sang along to Meet The Mets, even though I don’t think we could see the words.

The song should be played every game, and a new generation of fans should learn the song too…

I read the comment about it being played at the beginning of the game–not a bad idea. Maybe the end of the game too, as I CAN NOT STAND the cliched song, Taking Care of Business, over and over and over…

My 8th inning song–Helter Skelter, crowd would love it. Kidding.
