Howard: Citi Field’s windblown debris sort of good

I think this whole Wind-gate story is overblown, and clearly the solution is to place colored aluminum squares on the exterior frame of Citi Field, but none of that makes the David Howard quote of the day any less fun!

“It’s sort of good now that there is debris to be blown out there. It shows people are spending some money and buying food and drink and enjoying themselves.”

  1. is he serious? *laughs*

It’s windy sometimes. No big deal. Our players seem to be able to handle it, whereas it certainly seemed to intimidate the Giants. (guess they don’t remember Candlestick)

  2. c’mon. that’s a quote from the same guy who doesn’t see obstructed views at Citi Field. imagine the sound of the aluminum tiles blowing in the wind? it would be like a giant set of wind chimes.

  3. I would have thought he would’ve went with,” The way we characterize “wind” is if you have wind, something blowing past in front of you — a breeze, a gust, something that’s whipping your hat off your head y. That’s not the case here. It is a function of the geometry of the building. ” (took most of that from his obstruction quote.

  4. And what looks even worse is the black around the apple when all garbage in blown onto it. Can they get some dark green astroturf around there. Looks too plain and boring back there. Or can they landcape it to grow ivy like most “normal” organization have done?
