FAQs for Saturday’s 2015 Queens Baseball Convention

Hi there, we’re very excited for the Queens Baseball Convention tomorrow.

 

WHAT IS THIS AGAIN?

“Fan Fest meets Comic Con.”   Our guests include Mookie Wilson, Wally Backman, and Ed Charles.  Josh Lewin will be on hand to pass out the Mazzy Awards.  Ed Charles will receive the Gil Hodges Unforgettable Fire Award.  There are several panels including 86 Mets: The Movie, Adam Rubin Q&A, Decades, Baseball Movies, Uni Watch, Meet the Mets Executives, Meaningful Games In September: Good Enough?, What Numbers Should The Mets Retire and more.  Mr. Met, Sandy the Seagull and Pee Wee are all coming.  Check out the QBC Schedule Page for details.

 

 

HOW MUCH?

$35.  Admission includes one autograph from Mookie Wilson and one from Wally Backman.  There is no autographs session for Ed Charles.

 

WHAT TIME DO THE DOORS OPEN?

11:30

 

CAN I PARK?

Yes, in Lot G.  Entrance on 126th Street on the first base side

 

IS THERE FOOD?

There will be food for sale from McFadden’s.  The menu is burgers, hot dogs, fries, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, chips and cookies.

 

ARE THE AUTOGRAPHS FROM MOOKIE WILSON AND WALLY BACKMAN FREE?

Your admission includes one autograph from Mookie and one from Wally.   Bring your own item to be signed.

 

WHAT ABOUT ED CHARLES? IS HE SIGNING?

There is no autograph session with Ed Charles, and as he is our special honored guest we’d like to make the day super easy on him, so take as many pictures as you’d like during the Gl Hodges Award ceremony, but please don’t hassle Mr. Charles.

 

SHOULD I PRINT OUT MY TICKETS?  

We’re encouraging everyone to print out their tickets so that the line can move as quickly as possible.

WHAT’S THIS JERSEY PARADE I HEARD ABOUT?

Wear your best (or worst) jersey, and join us as we march from one end of McFadden’s to the other.  Judges will be on hand to provide commentary on your attire.  All in good fun, and it really is a silly good time.

 

IS THE 7 TRAIN RUNNING?

One never knows what the Subway gods have planned, but according to the MTA website there should be normal 7 train service between Manhattan and Citi Field.  There will not be service between Citi Field and Main Street.  They plan to run buses.

Yes, until all tickets are sold.  If tickets sell out we will post an announcement on MetsPolice.com and tweet it out from @metspolice @qbconvention and @mediagoon
