Mets Police Seek People Who Were Part Of David Howard’s Citi Field Research

Maybe I am a cynic….I am struggling with this part of the official press release today:

“In our ongoing effort to serve our fans, we proactively sought their feedback – through direct dialogue and e-mail, and via online and in-person research,” said Dave Howard, Executive Vice President, Business Operations, New York Mets. “These new enhancements are a direct result of that communication and are designed to make the Citi Field experience even more exceptional.”

I’m just a dope sitting on a deck with a laptop computer so what do I know?

For all I know the Mets did extensive market research, handed out surveys at all the games I wasn’t at, or they waited until I was in the bathroom.

Maybe I wasn’t home when they called.  Maybe they don’t know my email address.

Maybe the guys who sent me the uniform survey three seconds after it was released weren’t part of the research.

Maybe Matt Cerrone forgot to mention the research on Metsblog.

Maybe the guys at Amazin Avenue didn’t know about it either.

Maybe Kranepool Society and Baseball Fever and Bitter Bill and Adam Rubin and the guys on Twitter and everyone else didn’t think it was interesting enough to mention in a column or even a tweet.

Maybe I suck at the internet and just missed it all.

Maybe I wasn’t listening to WFAN when they talked about it.

So – if you were one of the people who were part of the direct dialogue with the Mets, I would love to hear from you.

I’m sure this was extensively researched and not just someone saying “crap, we’re 11 games out we better stop with the Dodgers stuff and start listening.”   David Howard is in touch with the fans.   So, I look forward to hearing from all of you.

Now maybe you’re saying “Hey Shannon, you got what you wanted – shut up.”  I like a good mystery.   I would have assumed that they were going to say “we read some blogs” but apparently they did extensive email and in-person research.  I’m sorry I missed it because I have some ideas for the place.

My email address is [email protected] if you were part of the research.    I know I can be hard to find sometimes.  I would love to hear from you and your unicorn.

  1. I wasn't asked either. But I do my own research. Look at all the polls on my site.

The latest question I ask (an essay question instead of multiple choice) is "how much mets stuff will make you satisfied?"

And the early photos of the improved Citi Field didn't really impress me very much.
