I’m still mad at the Bisons becuse they didn’t even have the courtesy to write back when I asked for credentials, but I do like this Bisons Business Blog. From time to time you’ll hear me remind you that “the Mets” are a businessm, so I like the blatant honesty coming from Buffalo. Â Let’s excerpt
Print @ Home
Pretty soon the days of printing tickets will be over. Technology is such that tickets will be going by way of the dinosaur. One of the technologies pushing traditional tickets out is the “print @ home” option. Most ballparks of any size are scanning tickets. The number of people printing their tickets at home has nearly doubled each season. Every time a fan prints their tickets there is a 2″ x3″ area on the page that can be sponsored. An easily changeable coupon could be included or a branding message. That information will be on every print at home page and can be color or black and white. Last year close to 4,000 fans printed their tickets at home. The year previous we were close to 2,500. The trend is expected to accelerate even more this year. If you are interest please call or email, my information is at the end of the blog.
See, I like that. Â Instead of making up some crap that printing tickets is more convenient for me (and thus they can charge me a fee) this guy is honest and says they can sell ads. Â I like it. Â Honest.
I shall keep an eye on this Christopher Hill. Â Maybe he and the dude that came up with the Thursday Jersey Cyclones promotion can come to Flushing some day and show Dave Howard how to run the place. Â Hey Chris, tell someone to email me back: [email protected] Â I’ll take a “no” but nothing is plane rude.
I HATE print @ home tickets. I’ve always liked the feel of tearing off the perforated cardboard-like paper and receiving the tickets in the mail, and having just a piece of paper feels like a rip off to me (as well as using my supplies, if I even have a printer, to provide something that I could otherwise get for free). And besides, I think it’s CRIMINAL that patrons are forced to pay extra to print the tickets themselves (I never figured out what I have to pay for that’s extra in that case – no shipping and handling, no supplies for ticketscammer to provide to me), and even more so when print at home is the only option for the order (will call should ALWAYS be an option, no matter how close to the event).
i agree with all of what you say. plus my printer is always out of ink. why do i have to pay to print?
