Here we go again….Jose Reyes says he doesn’t have an overactive thyroid. The Mets of course had sent out a release saying he did.
Mike Silva has a nice spin on NY Baseball digest. Go read that while I get coffee and read more.
(Sigh, and I stayed up last night laying out two days of blog-posts. Â If this blows up there goes my plan).
just a slight correction, Jose said he doesn’t have thyroid problems, not that he doesn’t/didn’t have an overactive (I keep typing this as overreactive, which kinda fits) thyroid.
It’s actually extremely good news, suggests Reyes will be back playing this weekend, and is being glossed over because 99% of the people reporting this are working off what they interpret from a translated Spanish article.
The doctor’s told Reyes to lay off the fish with iodine, and to get checked regularly/every three weeks. That translates to the Mets as “Your SS has an overactive thyroid, something to keep an eye on. Still one more test to follow”, but to Reyes it’s an all clear, just keep an eye on it and get back to playing.
Great comment. We all want him playing asap. Why can’t the Mets ever all stay on message?
Imagine Mantle in an age of TMZ and Twitter. Hey, why isn’t Mick playing?
Have to agree with Ceetar. Just way to much “METS TURMOIL” coming out of the NY Press.
No one has said “Hyperthyroidism”, which would be a serious problem.
David Lennon of Newsday and David..Waldstein? of the Times both had excellent articles today. Waldstein talked to Reyes’ agent and the emphasis was on the good news.
