The apple is cool… precisely BECAUSE it is cheesy! Just like our beloved ballclub. That’s why we love it. That’s why 40,000 of us were booing last July when the new one failed to rise. It’s a part of being a Mets fan. It really doesn’t matter how hokey it is.
Booing the failing apple is strangely fun.
Good news for me – I have junior in tow this morning and he has a mr met doll in his bag to bring to grandmas.
