Video of Shea Stadium 1964 includes video screen

I think I posted this once before, but it’s very cool and  a reader named Green Destiny mentioned it in the comments yesterday.  Keep your eyes peeled on 2:55, 3:00 and 3:06 and you’ll see the video screen in action!  (Make it full screen using standard youtube technology).

  1. Great video … as you can see the screen was not very bright and the operator had a hard time keeping up with the pace of the game. by the way the outer white section of the scoreboard was called “the cycloramic shell” and was built with the 1964-1965 worlds fair in mind.

  2. Oh how I wish it was still 1964. Not because the Mets were a bad team, but just because I was a kid in Queens, living the simple life.
