In case you’re wondering – I am watching the game. Â Mrs. Mets Police is hogging the upstairs TV, I’m in a gutted basement, sitting in a lawn chair, breathing in who-knows-what – but I hooked the TV back up.
There’s a video on YouTube of one of NBC’s old Game of the Week intros. The comments section is full of opinions on announcers, as the old tandems of Scully & Garragiola and Costas/Kubek kicks the crap out of anything you can find on network TV today. The best comment on McCarver is that he “says nothing as loud as possible.”
Another I agree with is “I can listen to Scully give play-by-play of paint drying.”

BTW, as much as I love the Mets announcers, I plan to watch the Dodgers broadcast when the Mets play in LA. Gotta love Vin!
im a big fan of Scully so I hear ya on that. Every April when they do a free preview of MLB Sunday Ticket I always sample a Dodgers game.
