Over at 408 To Center, Tom recently took a look at who else could or should be in the Mets Hall of Fame.
Off the top of my head, Howard Johnson is way up on the leaderboard in many categories. Â John Franco for longevity. Â If Davey is in how about Mel Stottlemeyer?
ESPN New York also tackled the subject.
Not that there should be any rush to induct everybody at once, and some are still playing or broadcasting – Bobby Valentine, Mike Piazza, Edgardo Alfonzo, John Franco, Howard Johnson, Gary Cohen, Howie Rose, David Wright, Jose Reyes, Lee Mazzili, Ron Darling, Sid Fernandez, Al Leiter, Jesse Orosco
Piazza is obvious, but I am embarrassed to not have immediately thought of Jon Matlack. I think Darling should be in, espcially if he continues to be a fixture in the booth (and he should be). Orosco, probably as well as Franco. Some guys I would have to look up, although they probably did not do it long enough, John Milner, Skip Lockwood & Wayne “Warning Track” Garrett.
