Anger leads to hate, hate leads to empty stadium

Good morning Mets fans.

It’s always weird working on the site when I am on the road because I lose feel for the team. I haven’t seen a game all week or been on Twitter or heard Carton but I can tell from thousands of miles that people are angry and once again the Mets have slipped back into the mode where they are perceived as incompetent fools.

I feel like I should be writing about cleaning house and getting rid of folks like K-Rod…I feel like that type of thing gets written by folks like me and Joel Sherman often. Why is this franchise always a mess?

I kinda wish I could be around more this week to comment as this drama unfolds.

No podcast tonight…too bad because there’s plenty to talk about as always. The next podcast will be next Sunday at 6:30.

Waiting for Wally, catch ya later.

  1. Hate led to 39K last night. That is comparable to the last Phillies series. Not exactly an empty stadium.

I find it funny that the stats are now showing Cora is a better second baseman than Tejada.

  2. anger leads to hate, hate leads to empty stadium, and anger and hate lead to punching your…, oh nevermind.

when i bought the ticket for last night’s game 2 weeks ago at the box office, i was told that it was nearly sold out (not sure if they meant the stadium itself of the pepsi porch where i was). it looks like there was room to cram in a few more people. but so many phillies fans were in attendance for the saturday night game. i wonder what the splits were (maybe 60-40 mets).

  3. Long Island Ducks – $11 for a seat a few rows up behind the dugout. Free parking. Food pricing…not the best but cheaper than the Mets. Awesome game against Newark. Granted it was hard to get into the game with no true “connection” but at the same time, it did feel good knowing we weren’t paying the salaries of spoiled millionaires who can’t win and spoiled owners who don’t care about winning.

the Wilpons. They have to go. They will never be good while they run the place

  5. Bridgeport Bluefish – $9 for a seat behind home plate, and not only did my son got a foul ball, but I got hit in the face on the rebound by one. (OK, maybe that means I suck at watching baseball.)
