From the official post-game notes:
IKE DAVIS: Finished 4-4 and tied his career high for hits in a game, done twice before and last accomplished on September 5th at the Cubs…Also drove in three to give him 67 on the season and move past Steve Henderson for third place on the club’s single-season rookie RBI list…Davis tied Henderson for third place when he drove home Jesus Feliciano with a first-inning double to right…Moved past the former outfielder with a two-run single in the seventh inning.
DAVIS STREAKING: After his 4-4 effort tonight, Davis is six for his last seven…He has hit safely in 16 of his last 21 games and is batting .394 (28-71) with 12 RBI over this span.
MIKE PELFREY: Tossed 7.1 innings to win his 14th game of the season and set a career high for victories in a season…Pelfrey won 13 games in 2008.
MIKE PELFREY DOUBLE PLAYS: Threw two double-play ground balls tonight to give him 24 on the season…The 24 double plays during a single season tie Pelfrey for the eighth most in franchise history and leave him five behind his total from 2008 when he set the club’s all-time mark.
PELFREY AT HOME: Pelfrey improved to 9-3 at Citi Field this season and lowered his home ERA to 2.89 (33 earned runs/102.2 innings).
Unrelated – my favorite thing on the internet today was this Generic Blog Post from Faith and Fear. Trust me.
Also unrelated – I was thinking about ramping down the podcast for the season and not even doing it but between WalterReedGate and Santana I assume we’ll find something to talk about. Sunday 6:30pm.
Last week’s was pretty good and still holds up without being dated as we mostly talked managers.
