Final Mets attendance: 2,573,137

Thanks to Danielle, Ethan, Jonathan, Billy. Shannon and Jay for looking out for the fat bloggers this season and making information easy to get this season.

The Mets drew 3,168,571 in 2009 and 4,042,045 in the final season of Shea in 2008.  This is the lowest total since 2004, albeit in a smaller park.  I’m not sure that they would have drawn all that more even in a stadium that sat 100,000.

From the official notes:

CITI FIELD ATTENDANCE: The Mets drew 2,573,137 fans to Citi Field this season after 30,849 attended today’s 2-1 loss against the Nationals.

LONGEST GAME: Today’s 14 innings marked the longest game in Citi Field history, surpassing the 13 innings the Mets and Cardinals played on July 28th of this season…It was also the sixth game for the Mets this season of at least 13 innings—the most in the major leagues…Courtesy of the Elias Sport Bureau.

Losing Pitcher:  Oliver Perez (0-5)
