Mets fans, as we gear up for the Formerlys to defeat Senators II in the World Series, let us remember that there were great baseball players in New York City who did not hail from Brooklyn.
One such player, the great Hall of Famer Mel Ott.
Check out Centerfield Maz for a rundown of Mel’s career.
What a fine looking uniform that is.
Ott was great, but I’d rather have Bill Terry on my team if I had to choose.
The uniform kind of looks like the Mets’ Snow Whites (except the jersey for the Giants has a zipper instead of buttons). Wish the Mets could model an alt jersey on this one with the same font the Giants have.
I have struggled to figure out how M E T S would look as good as G I A N T S.
The road version is easy to imagine.
