My first impression of Terry Collins

Terry’s appearance at the press conference was short.  He speaks quickly.  He seems focused.

Media Goon picked up on this:   “Terry Collins on Anaheim- I am held accountable for what happened in the clubhouse.   I should have head it off but I didn’t.”

OK, asked and answered.  Move on.

I don’t feel like I know too much about the guy but my first impression is that the days of a clownfest in the clubhouse are now over.   To parrot a well-used line, it does seem that the adults are in charge.

More in the post below this one (ooh pinstripes)…and make sure you read the Mets Blog article I linked to in the post below that one.

  1. Interesting take via MetsBlog re: Alderson’s surprise about NY media coverage. Beat writers will run over each other to get a scoop here. The only lapdog “media” for the team constitutes SNY, MetsBlog, the MLB.com folks sans Marty Noble, and a couple guys at The Daily News due to the SNY marketing agreement. Everyone else will kill for an exclusive.

  2. Jerry was a smart man, who spoke in a cadence which assured that he held the attention of the room.

Terry speaks fast, but it sounds like he’s a man of intense purpose. He seems like a good guy, and he’s going to hold himself, and his players accountable.
