Quick Mets ticket office tidbits

Believe me I know it’s fun to bash the Mets but here’s some stuff they deserve credit for:

Media Goon got his renewal letter and caught the following:

“As you might have heard, we have on average, reduced 2011 Mets single game ticket prices from 2010 and introduced special discounts for our ticket plan holders.  As a result, many of our 15 game plan holders will receive significantly lower invoices for 2011.  However, a limited number of Plan holders will see modest increase of up to $25 per seat in their total invoice amount.  We will accommodate those plan holders who pay in full or select the on-line payment plan option by the December 22,2010 deadline with Citi Field gift cards equal to the amount to any increase in your invoice from 2010, ensuring that every renewing plan holder will pay no more then last season.”

While not a decrease at least it’s something.

I got a note from John who disagrees with the experience Metsgrrl had with the ticket office. He says he called today and was easily able to move down a few rows.   Let me know what you guys are hearing.   I haven’t seen a renewal yet…or maybe Mrs. Mets Police stole my mail.

If you missed the earlier post: the 15 game plans and dates can be found here. The weekend+ package looks awful to me.

For Monday I am working on a post about ticket transfer fees for when you want to let your buddy use your seats.  Do they really charge you for a bar-code transfer?

  1. It’s nice that the Mets are making sure that their plan holders won’t actually be paying more this year. However, given the overall state of the economy and the general perception of the team’s competitiveness… why on Earth did they decide to raise any ticket prices for next year?

  2. For me, the Mets have made my choice. I was a Saturday for 25 years. Sat in the Loge Sect 10. I had my days of sitting in the Upper Deck and the outfield as a kid and now I am a Between-The Bases”, no more than 1 level up, type of guy.
The Mets have made that impossible for the following reasons:
    1) I want Saturdays. Just Saturdays. Do you want to know
how many of the plus games I went to in 2009? Not a one

    2) Maybe its just me but the pricing for field level and
Caesars Level between the bases is S440 to $75. That my
    friends is crazy…

So, I’m very happy to save the money and watch on TV. No more cold April Night, and best of all no more “Meaningful September (and lately August) Games” to eat or try to get rid of. You see, I got tired of paying for STEAK, when all they are serving up is Ground Beef!!!

  3. SO if I read that right, Some are going to pay more for their seats but will get a gift certificate for the stadium.

Basically we are taking your money one way or another! lol
