Revisiting Undefeated Tuesdays

The Florida Panthers have started a Good Time Guarantee promotion. Didn’t have fun?  Fill out the survey and get the money back.

Earlier this year I proposed the Mets introduce Undefeated Tuesdays. If the Mets lose at home on Tuesday and you were there, you get a ticket to another Monday-Thursday game.   That’s it.

In 2010 the Mets were undefeated at home on Tuesday.  Looks like they were 5-4 in 2009 (maybe I missed some while I was squinting at this).

Using very loose math, say the Mets lose 6 Tuesday games of crowds of 30,000.   How many people do you think will actually take them up on the free tickets?  Lets say 90%.  (Like I said, loose math).   An extra 162,000 customers buying hot dogs, maybe a soda…maybe some even get addicted to the Mets….all on weekday nights.

You don’t think Undefeated Tuesday would get the crowd into a game?   Think what people do for a free taco.

Feel free to use this one Dave.  I’m here to help.

  1. Sounds like a winner to me. I think the Mets need to borrow a page from the minor leagues and make sure that there is some sort of promotion for every game.
