Mike Piazza in a blue Mets jersey

Apparently the Men In Black wiped my memories of the late 90’s. Either that or it was when I told Cablevision to go hose themselves whe they put Sportschannel on a tier for an extra $10 when you were looking at a $50 cable bill or $60. For Fran Healy. Nope.

I digress.

Tonight I suck up to Generation Piazza by combining two items….Mike and blue jerseys. Thanks to Terrence for posting this in the comments.

This happened? Even the black drop shadow is tolerable.

UPDATE: Got a comment from Steve who says he sent this to UniWatch originally.   So thanks to Steve and thanks to Paul and crew at UniWatch and we should all thank Life as well.

I also obviously wrote the original piece at night and didn’t make the edit when I re-scheduled it.  You guys have no idea how many posts I move.

  1. Thanks for crediting ME with the find!!! I SUBMITTED those pics to UNIBLOG (WHO DID CREDIT ME) and you steal it from his site and don’t give me the credit…instead some “Terrence” character

    1. Steve I mean no offense I mean no harm. I try to support Honor Among Bloggers and credit all. In this case I got the email from Terrence. If you previously sent it to me and I forgot I apologize.

  2. Don’t feel bad for missing that one, Chief. Even the MLB Style Guide doesn’t show that particular BP top. Per the guide, the Mets had blue BPs through ’99, but they were rarely worn once the “alternate” black BP tops appeared in ’98. There’s no mention of when the drop-shadow was added to blue BPs. It was added to the snows in ’98 but wasn’t added to the pins until ’99.

  3. This Jersey Kicks The ASS of that weird Blue and Black combo that they’re sporting these days.Again, Black and Blue just don’t go. I wonder who was the fool that convinced the Mets that that was the combo to go with?
