Mr. Met bobbleheads on Opening Day

First 25,000 get this from the Mets on Opening Day except it won’t be sideways because it wont be done from an iPad using an app that won’t let me rotate the photo.  And I think they said 25,000.  Don’t take that to the bank.  The point is the sideways picture.

Oh, Mr. Met does not appear to be wearing the pinstripes.

  1. Mr. Met is clearly wearing home whites, the blue collar and placket piping is quite apparent. Unfortunately, he also seems to have paired his blue cap and undershirt with black socks.

  2. I’ve never been able to figure out why they waste a giveaway on Opening Day… it’s not going to help sell extra tickets.

  3. Yeah- I agree. I’ll gladly take it but makes no sense from a marketing point of view…

  4. Actually, the Mets don’t pay for the give-aways, the sponsors do. And, opening day is basically the only guarantied capacity crowd, so it is, from a marketing stand point, the best day for a sponsor to pay for a give-away.
That’s why to Mets haven’t released their give-away dates yet. They are still trying to generate decent early ticket sale data to market give-away dates to sponsors.
