Today’s notes…as I mention daily I just cut and paste from a PDF so if there are some missing space-marks that’s on my end not the Mets.

TODAY’S METS STARTER LHP OLIVER PEREZ will make his second start and third appearance of the springtoday…In his last start, Perez tossed 2.0shutout innings to pick up the win vs. St.Louis…In his first spring appearance, he allowed four runs on four hits in 2.0 innings vs. Atlanta…Perez went 0-5 with a 6.80ERA in 2010…He began the season in the starting rotation before being moved to thebullpen after his start on May 14 atFlorida…Limited lefthanders to a .214 (9-42)batting average, while righthanders hit .317(45-142) against him…Placed on the 15-Day Disabled List with patella tendinitisof his right knee on June 5…Appeared insix of the team’s final 69 games.

RHP CHRIS CAPUANO  will make his second spring start today…Capuano pitched 3.0 innings on March 2 vs. St. Louis yielding three hits and one run with four strikeouts…Capuano, 32, went 4-4 with a3.95 ERA in 24 appearances last year withthe Milwaukee Brewers…He was 3-3 with a4.14 ERA in nine starts and 1-1 with a 3.54ERA (eight earned runs/20.1 innings) in 15relief outings…Capuano, a former All-Star,is 46-52 with a 4.35 ERA in 148 careermajor league games, 125 starts…He wasnamed to the 2006 National League All-Starteam, going 11-12 with a 4.03 ERA (99earned runs/221.1 innings)…He was tied forthe NL lead with 25 quality starts that year…His best season came in 2005 whenhe won 18 games and struck out 176.
