Statement from Mets’ Carlos Beltran

I missed an email earlier (I was being a good person and mentoring some students)…a statement from Mr. Beltran

I felt a little discomfort in my left knee last week. I spoke to the doctors today. They advised me to just give it a rest for a couple of days. I can hit and do everything, but back off the running part of it. I feel fine. I think I just overcompensated from all the work I did on the other knee and I just need to give it a little break.

Say what you want about Carlos, I bet he wouldn’t charge you a fee to print out Mets tickets at home.

I’m not freaking about this. I think it’s part of my new counter-culture stance where I think the Mets will win 90. Ya gotta believe. You really do.

@mediagoon has been bringing up certain topics all day on twitter. I’m not biting.

Oh, I have a very crazy day tomorrow – that increases the likelihood of “major Mets news” to 90%

How come nobody has been making Moneyball Wilpon jokes? We all missed it. Start now. We kid because we love.

  1. Ollie will be cut from the team on Monday!…Breaking news you heard it here first!

90 Games!!…Man you drink some strong KOOL AID!

PSL had a crowd of ony 3,400 today!

Wilpons were at the Tiger game on Monday. I think Jeff took over for a beer vendor and started selling beer to lower the payroll and make a few bucks under the table!…Cheers!

  2. I have to laugh at these “experts” who think the Mets are going to be terrible.

The Mets were in 1st place last year around the All-Star break. They fell apart because of injuries–again. No Bay, no Beltran, no Santana.

Yes, not having Santana till June-July will be rough, but actually, he was 11-9 last year; basically a .500 pitcher.

If the Mets can stay healthy they have a good lineup and decent pitching. When the Mets win 90, all these geniuses will say it’s a fluke–who could see it coming?

Who? Anyone, who isn’t being a whiny pessimist, that’s who.
