Ticket Fees Only Waived by Phone

Hey guys. You know that benefit of the fees being waived for single game ticket purchases if you have at least a 15 game plan? Well that only applies if you call the ticket office or go to the box office in person.

I ordered my Opening Day tix today and I noticed they added fees to it. On twitter I posed a question about this to 15 game plan holders. They got back to me and told me that it only works on the phone. Now, when I talked to my ticket rep a few weeks ago about why the flex plans had gotten fees waived when I have had my plan for three years now,he said,” One of your benefits is that you don’t have to pay any fees when you buy single game tickets.” He never mentioned it was only by phone though.

I emailed the Mets today and to their credit they got back to me within thirty minutes. The person who called me back told me that MLB controls the ticketing website and there is no way to waive the fees on there. If I call into the the box office in the future they will waive the fees. Now that would have been nice to know to begin with.

I want to pass this on to you guys so you all know to call the Mets box office so you do not have to pay these unnecessary fees.

  1. yeah, i remember that from when i had my plan.

This whole MLB/Mets thing can be a pain sometimes.

I wonder why it is that the Mets go through ‘mlb’ and this other ticketing service, while the Yanks and others use ticketmaster (mlb is MUCH better. Ticketmaster is a disaster)

  2. The Mets are expecting another drop of 500,000 in Attendance for 2011 at Shea 2.

They got to make that up somehow!
