What was one of the unique selling points of Citi Field was the fact that it had The Shake Shack. Now the Nationals are getting it?
The Nationals announced on Wednesday that renowned restaurateur Danny Meyer and his Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) will bring the very popular “Shake Shack” concessions concept to Nationals Park this season.
They are also getting the other Danny Meyer food stands too.
Other new concepts from Meyer and his group include pit barbecue at “Blue Smoke,” Belgian-style fries and dipping sauces at “Box Frites,” and authentic Mexican food at “El Verano Taquería.”
Okay. I have an idea Shannon might like. Since the Nats took the Mets “unique” foods, maybe they can also take something a lot of us Mets fans don’t like. No, they took Ollie already. Maybe the can take the black jerseys, dropshadow, and hybrid hats.
To read the whole story was from Nationals Buzz.

And, believe it or not, their blue alt jersey (both old and new) is worse looking than anything the Mets ever rocked in black – http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4048/5165151111_1148356933_o.png
Shannon… do you ever venture over to the Shake Shack line? I admit that I do. My brother and I have timed it. Usually takes one beer if you start at the end of the line, albeit a long line, we all know how long those lines can get, by the time you get to order you’re ready for the next beer. Makes the wait a little bit more passable. It’s gonna be a hit in DC.
You could see the writing on the wall there, since Meyer and Shake Shack have been expanding everywhere.
What I want to know, is if they’ll get all the beers too. the Brooklyn ‘exclusives’ were wonderful.
Good point on the Brooklyn exclusives. If they do, this would be a good move for the Brooklyn Brewery. Not sure how well known the brewery is in the DC area. We all know how cool the Brooklyn tag has become.
To borrow from Greg of Faith & Fear, they’re turning stadiums into nice places to eat in the general vicinity of a ballgame.
