AT CITI FIELD BETWEEN ECUADOR AND GREECE
Fans Are Encouraged to Take Enhanced Mass Transit
Tickets Will be Available At All Citi Field Ticket Windows Starting at 4:30 p.m.
FLUSHING, N.Y., June 6, 2011 – The New York Mets today announced that gates will open at 5:40 p.m. for tomorrow night’s inaugural soccer match at Citi Field between Ecuador and Greece. Fans are strongly encouraged to take enhanced mass transit to the game since parking is limited.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) New York City Transit and Long Island Railroad will offer additional service for tomorrow’s game. NYC Transit will run extra No. 7 subway trains to Manhattan following the game and LIRR will run their regular weekday game train service to Mets-Willets Point.
Tickets will be available to purchase the day of the game at all Citi Field ticket windows starting at 4:30 p.m. This includes ticket windows next to the Jackie Robinson Rotunda, on 126th Street at the Bullpen Gate ticket windows and at the Left Field Gate ticket windows.

Parking lots will open at 4:30 p.m.
The following items are among those prohibited: umbrellas, items larger than 16”x16”x8,” coolers (hard sided), cans, glass bottles, beverage containers, alcoholic beverages, controlled or illegal substances, laser pointers, fireworks, animals (except for service animals), weapons, and the like and the holder consents to a reasonable search for such items. Citi Field retains the right to determine what items are deemed appropriate to entry. Smoking at Citi Field is prohibited. Any ticketholder violating this prohibition will be subject to ejection.
Why are umbrellas banned for the soccer game and let in for the baseball games ? Umbrellas are a pain in the ass if you are sitting behind one . They should be BANNED ALWAYS !!!!!
