From what is being said in the Mets interwebs, the Mets are intending to keep Jose Reyes for the rest of 2011. Buster Olney tweeted about it today.
@Buster_ESPN The Mets are now 100 percent certain they will not trade Jose Reyes before the deadline, according to sources. He changed their minds.
Does this mean the Mets are convinced they might have a shot of Reyes staying with the team after this season? Are they going to let him play out the season and put an “offer” on the table just to make it look like to the fans that they tried to get him to stay with the team? I am not even going to pretend to try like I have an idea what is going on over there in Flushing.
I bet this is the slow trickle of Mets news that is going to lead to huge breaking news because Shannon is away and I am in charge of the blog.
