Mets Hire New Bench Coach

The Mets hired Bob Geren as Terry Collins’ bench coach. Strangely, I have no feelings about this yet.

“After interviewing several potential candidates, including former Nationals manager Jim Riggleman, the Mets have settled on former A’s manager Bob Geren as their new bench coach, according to Jon Heyman of SI.com.”

That was from the NBC Hardballtalk Blog

  1. I’ll give you my feelings – outrage!
For this to be the big Mets news while Jose Reyes remains unsigned – even undiscussed and unapproached – is purely outrageous. Who cares about the Mets bench coach. And if we did, what does it say that Alderson imposed *his* choice for the gig. This is becoming a management team no one can believe in.

  2. Not liking the idea that this was a front office decision and not TC’s.

If you want him to manage, let him at least pick his own coaches. The players are bad enough!
