I remember all the hype leading up to the 86 World Series. As good as the NLCS had been, the ALCS was almost just as good.
But most of all, I remember everyone talked about how this was the worst match-up imaginable if you were a Yankee fan. I ever had a tee shirt that had the World Series logo and match-up on the front, and on the back it said “George Steinbrenner’s Worst Nightmare”
Anyway, on to the papers. Personally I think the Post wins this round with a better headline and a much better picture on the front page.
