If not for Buckner, Tuefel’s error may have gone down as the biggest missed grounder of the series.
I have a confession. The first Mets World Series game that I had a chance of really remembering (I was 6 in 73 and my memories are a bit cloudy) and I wasn’t watching. Instead I was at a Billy Joel concert at Madison Square Garden. Thank God for VHS
