ESPN’s most depressing Mets preview ever – The Mets Police

ESPN’s most depressing Mets preview ever

Let’s see…which team in the NL East has the 5th best #1 starter.  Check.

5th best 2-starter?  Check.

Three?  Check.

At least the Mets did OK at SS…

This is back-of-the-napkin stuff … but fun back-of-the-napkin stuff. As we wait to see if Prince Fielder does land in Washington, lets check out the state of the NL East. Well go position by position and rank the players. Then well come up with a final tally five points for first, four for second, etc.

  1. Thanks Shannon for spreading the good news. I thought we were going to be bad, but that was even uglier than I thought!

Sounds like if we finish in fourth place it will be a miracle!

    Maybe we can forfeit!

  2. Hey, they were kinder to the Mets than I was expecting. There were actually a few position comparisons where the Mets finished ahead of somebody else.

As soon as the Marlins started spending money, it was clear the Mets were likely to be a last place team in 2012. That’s ok – but I hope the team can get its financial house in order and start putting pieces together so we’re not looking at a last place team in 2013, 2014 and beyond.
