Biz of Baseball predicts Mets attendance will be down, dramatic

Since it’s quiet let’s link to @bizballmaury who lists the Mets and only the Mets as the only MLB be club in both the “down” and “dramatic” categories for predicted 2012 attendance.

  1. He’s wrong.  Even if the Mets don’t ultimately do anything record and therefore attendance will be roughly the same. 50th anniversary will probably help, as well pre-buys for 2013 season tickets to get All-Star tickets

  2. WOW! Is that supposed to be surprising. You can see it in the spring training games already. They are down by 1000-1500 people a game.

Butts in the seats are tied to wins! They might be OK If they get off to a good start, if not Shea 2 will be a morgue!

  3. It depends on two things…the economy and the start the team gets. If I had to bet, I’d say economy will not be helping with gas at record prices for this time of year. With Reyes gone and Wright already hurt, Johan and Ike will have to be the stars.
