If you think you might find yourself in Chicago this weekend, this post from 2009 might interest you.
…I thought I’d share what it looks like to take the El to Wrigley since I’m sure you guys have taken the 7 to Shea at least once. Yeah I said Shea.
I find a lot of “Mets nerds” are also “Subway nerds” – like I could totally see Howie Rose knowing lots about the BMT, couldn’t you?
When you get down to street level this is the view. Between the buildings you’ll see Wrigley, and these are the backs of the “rooftops.”

Stan Fischler the hockey maven wrote a great book on the New York subway worth looking for
So did Gene Sansone…count me in as a Subway Geek as well
Gene Sansone also wrote a great book about NYC Subways..great pics for the non-techies
I’ve used the subway systems of both cities…hard for me to say which is better. They’re both pretty good and the Red and Blue lines in Chicago run 24/7 just like the MTA. The Red Line to Wrigley (or U.S. Cellular, for that matter) is pretty efficient, for getting to games I’d say it’s better than the 7 to Citi but not as good as the D to Yankee Stadium.
