Hey @Mets stop reading this and do this now: Giants’ New Social Cafe Brings Twitter to Baseball Fans IRL

(The Giants) unveiled its new “@Cafe” this week, distilling the team’s online buzz in one physical location for supporters to visit just beyond the ballpark’s centerfield wall.

The cafe’s centerpiece is a twelve-by-four-foot screen that shows Giants-related posts to Twitter and Instagram from fans, players and media around the world, as well as tickers tracking the team’s growing legion of online followers. Fans can also peer into an adjacent social command center, where team staffers track the online conversation and approve posts for inclusion on the big board. A charging station lets tech addicts juice up pretty much any device known to man, while a coffee shop dishes out hot java.

  1. The Giants do plenty for their fans between fan fest, their camp out on the field night, open wifi across the park, and fun things like this. All while winning two World Series titles in three years. They’re a model organization in many ways. The Mets should absolutely do things like this.
