Wearing Mets Goggles on a Monday night

What a night. You guys totally missed it.

I know we don’t usually hang out late on Monday night but we were having fun so I kept hanging.

The tweets were rocking. We all had a late night conversation about Diamondbacks uniforms. Hilarious.  Well, I guess you had to be there.  Anyway it was great.

I was totally into this baseball team last night. I guess I had my Mets Goggles on.

I should have called it a night around 10 but even though I knew I had to go to bed I stayed for one more round and sure enough they tied it up in the 9th.

Jim faceWell since that was fun I kept hanging.

11 became 12. Hey, Google Reader was still working! It seemed important at the time.

Even after the night looked like it was cooked around 12:15 I stayed up. Jim Halpert had shown up late like he always does, but hey as long as I get 5 hours sleep I will be fine.

Then, check this out….

You’re not gonna believe me but guess who showed up?

Matt Harvey!

No, really!

Around 12:30 Matt walks up and bunts. No, he didn’t pitch and how he got there is kind of fuzzy but he was definitely there.

Look man why would I make that up? Ask anyone.

Anyway, the next thing I know Gary Cohen is screaming and everyone is getting lucky and scoring. Send the Beer Guy! Then is was time to head to bed.

I woke up next to a Mets cap ad my phone. I’m gonna sneak out of here and hit Donuts Chain. Oh, Mets Goggles you got me in trouble last night – but sometimes if you chase a good night deep enough you fall asleep with a smile on your face.

  1. What kind of idiot gives away the 2nd out down a run in the 13th?

Apparently not quite as big of an idiot as the one who hands over 2 intentional walks to put the winning run on and then into scoring position.

That had to be one of the goofiest endings I’ve ever seen to a baseball game.
