Let’s take a look at the 2014 Mets 10 game ticket plans

There are no more 15 game plans.  There are 10’s and 20’s.

The 10’s come in “Friday” “Saturday” and “Sunday” and a pick your own.  Lets start with the easy…

OK, nothing to not like there. You get the opener and you get to get say just Saturday games, without any of that Saturday plus nonsense. Hard to complain.

But say you are like me, and those dates don’t work. The pick your own plan is always a nice option….

See what’s missing? Look carefully….

Do you see the word Promenade anywhere? Nope.

I’m not in the mood to do a long rant.  I don’t get it.  It probably makes sense on somebody’s spreadsheet, but as a product offering I’m not interested.

  1. It’s probably related to the reason the single game special offers (t-shirt tuesdays, Wheeler/Harvey t-shirts, etc.) never include the promenade seats.

I don’t necessarily agree with the logic, but I was told that the single game offers always involve only outfield seats so as not to diminish the value of the plans, which are the only way to get promenade seats at a discount. Now, if the team were contending, I might believe that the 10 game plans are taking so many promenade seats that they cannot guarantee availability of them for custom plans.

Even with the team not contending, the Promenade Infield sections were often pretty full on weekends, as they’re some of the best valued seats in the ballpark. (I personally don’t comprehend why anyone would think that seats beyond the outfield wall are worth more than Promenade Infield seats, but maybe that’s just me.)

There are also people who make the judgement opposite yours. I used to have a Sunday plan, but dropped the plan when it went from a 12-13 game Sunday plan to a 15 game “Sunday Plus” plan. Of course, that was also around when my first kid was born, which changed things a bit.

  2. Did you do a mock 10game ticket plan to see what it would cost? What is the difference in price from the 15 game plan you had this past season? (I tried searching for the 10game plan on the Mets.com but couldn’t locate it.)

  3. Why are there no Yankee games in the Sat, sunday 10 game plans but there are on the Friday and Pick your own plan?

  4. I purchased a ten game plan today. I agree that no promenade isn’t good for the options. I went from a twenty game plan to the ten game plan and had to move up a section. From what I could ascertain- there were many good seats available and the big push for tickets starts next week(of course I was most likely fed the line)!
