Stumbled across an old article about black Mets uniforms that made me laugh

Some fans grumbled about the original black wall at Citi Field. And many more despised the black jerseys the Mets started wearing in the late 1990s. You think this is a trivial matter? Bring up the black uniforms to a traditionalist Mets fan. You’ll almost feel like apologizing by the time they’re done talking.

“I hated them, hated them, hated them,” longtime Mets broadcaster Howie Rose said. “Hated everything about them, because they looked nothing like Mets colors. They degraded the entire look. They made it cartoonish.”

I love Howie.
