Mr. Met at today’s food drive at Citi Field

MLB All-Star Game Red Carpet ParadeMr. Met will be on hand to help as the Mets and City Harvest host their annual food drive to benefit New Yorkers in need.  The food drive is at Citi Field from now until 5pm.  Mr. Met will appear at 11:30 a.m.

The Mets and City Harvest Food Drive on November 12 at Citi Field is part of “Feeding the Big Apple” presented by The Hain Celestial Group, Inc., a season-long hunger relief initiative that included food drives and produce repacks.

Fans donating 10 items or more of nonperishable nutritious food at the food drive will receive a voucher for one pair of tickets to a select Mets game in April 2014.  Donors will also receive 15% off select merchandise at the Mets Team Store at Citi Field Tuesday, November 12 only.  Season Ticket Holders who donate food and show their Season Ticket Holder ID card will receive 20% off that day only.

Among the items most needed are: canned fruit and vegetables, plastic jars of peanut butter, packages of hot or cold cereal, and packages of macaroni and cheese.  Items that will not be accepted are: unlabeled, expired, or dented cans; any open packaging; products that need to be refrigerated; or homemade products.

 

Fans can drop off their food donation inside the Mets Team Store adjacent to the Jackie Robinson Rotunda.  Fans may park in Lot G on 126th Street between the Right Field Gate and Roosevelt Avenue.
